Abraham Kegnon has been ordered to pay N100,000 for creating a much-loved Nigerian meal… out of another’s farm. An Abuja Magistrate ordered Mr. Kegnon to pay the fee as compensation to Mike Danladi (both of Mpape village) after the former set fire to the latter’s farm. Magistrate Musa Jobbo – who need not know what his name means in Yoruba – had an easy day at the office seeing as the defendant pled guilty to the charge. Police Prosecutor Musa Abdulahi said: “In the guise of hunting for snakes, he set the whole farmland ablaze, burning a heap of yams valued at N100,000.”
