No Country For Gay Men: David Mark Says Ban on Same-Sex Marriage Irrevocable

Posted on January 9, 2013 by

Senate President David Mark has given a metaphorical “buzz off!” to lobbyists gunning for the Senate to hold back a bill that would make same sex marriages unlawful in the country.

Speaking with his middle finger raised, one would imagine, Mark was quoted in the The Guardian by his Chief press Secretary Paul Mumeh to have said: “We will not compromise on this. I want to invite you all to join the crusade of decency in our society. There are many good values we can copy from other societies but certainly not this one (same-sex marriage). We have to prove to the rest of the world, who are advocates of this unnatural way that we Nigerians promote and respect sanity, morality and humanity. Every individual is a product of the union of a man and woman.”

Hold on “…promote and respect sanity, morality and humanity.” From that statement, we can surmise that:

  1. Same-sex marriages are for insane people who will likely raise equally insane children;
  2. Gays and lesbians are aliens from Planet B6-12; and
  3. David Mark spends half his pay on buying Gillette razors for his head (see the picture provided).

Paul Mumeh was representing Mark at the civic reception in honour of John Cardinal Olorunfemi Onaiyekan in Abuja.
