UPDATED: Multiple Injuries Reported In Bomb Attack On Kano Police Station

Channels Television reports that “many persons” have been injured in twin bomb attacks, accompanied by sporadic gunfire, in an apparent attack on a Police Station in Kano State. According to eyewitnesses, two men riding on a motorcycle “hauled the explosives at the target around the densely populated Zoo road roundabout“.

The number of casualties  is unclear and sporadic gunshots rang out around the area until about 7:30am this morning. Residents in the area have reported fled.

Channels Television now reports that Kano state Police  Public Relations Officer, Magaji Majiya has released a press statement following the Police response to the explosion: “a team of anti-bomb disposal unit and patrol teams were mobilized to the scene. The whole area was cordoned and searched. There was no other explosive was left un-detonated [sic]. No injury, loss of life or damage [was] recorded. There was also no arrest made in respect to the explosion.”
